THE PEACOCK FOUNDATION, founded in 2002 by family therapist Lisa Peacock, was the first Animal-Assisted Intervention mental health program for children in Los Angeles. Kids and animals are brought together under the guidance of trained professionals to overcome social and emotional barriers so they can be free to learn new skills… and feel better!
"Some times when I’m sad, I don’t want to see anyone … but when I see the animals, they make me happy …"
- 9-year old client
"The kids not only get the treat of learning about a new animal but also learn life skills and coping mechanisms that will hopefully carry through to their teen and adult life."
- program director
"on days when I could not take another step forward the foundation carried me."
